Hola, I am Veronica! I launched OurMadrid tours seven years ago at my children's school as a way to introduce new expat families and show them the best of my Madrid discoveries. Over time, my guests have expanded to include tourists and so far hundreds of people have walked with me through this amazing city. My goal on OurMadrid tours is to make your experience here a phenomenal one. Walking together Iā€™ll share my knowledge of the neighborhood, and introduce you to local artisans, local foods and secret spots, as you might experience being a local. All while showcasing interesting aspects of the community, such as historical landmarks, notable architecture, and local culture. Weā€™ll see the top sites, but weā€™ll visit a lot of hidden gems off the beaten path, too. Think, less history, more fun and unforgettable experiences.

And itā€™s all just for you. All OurMadrid tours are private tours. You and your guests are my only focus. Beyond being intimate, private tours give us the chance to customize any tour for your interests. You want to focus more on art? No problem. More food? Sure. More secret shopping? Ā”VAMOS!

The Heart of MalasaƱa

MalasaƱa is a vibrant and charming neighborhood in Madrid that has a rich history and a lively presence. Once a working-class area, it became a hub for counterculture and artistic expression. Today, it is a trendy, hip and eclectic neighborhood with a mix of vintage shops, independent boutiques, bars, and restaurants. We start the tour at a 100+ coffee shop filled with history, then make our way to a 4th-generation espadrille shop, and we weave in and out of streets where we visit some local artisans and many great hidden surprises!

Charming Salesas

Salesas is described as the SoHo of Madrid. Jam-packed with boutiques, speciality coffee shops, and pretty places, you will fall in love with this charming neighborhood. This is more of a shopping tour, as we start our day with coffee and award-winning croissants; then hit all the great boutiques for your shopping obsession, including a Spanish chocolate shop, as well as a custom shoe shops, suit shop, etc. We end at the hipper version of Mercado de San Miguel - the Mercado de San Anton, a three story market where you can also enjoy tapas of all kinds as well as a rooftop restaurant/cocktail bar.

In the 16th and 17th centuries LAS LETRAS was a hub for writers and intellectuals, including Miguel de Cervantes, who wrote Don Quixote. Today, the area still pays homage to its literary past with numerous bookstores, boutiques, taverns and restaurants. On this tour, we will see some incredible architecture. visit shops, local artisans, and taste local bites such as churros at a local churreria, spanish olives, or vermouth on tap. Come join me in this must-visit area tucked between Puerta de SOL and the museum "triangle."

El RASTRO

Only on Sundays - El Rastro

Spanning over 400 years, El Rastro Market is one of Madrid's oldest and most famous street markets. It's located in the vibrant neighborhood of La Latina and takes place every SUNDAY. The market is a vibrant and bustling place where you can find everything from antiques, clothes, and souvenirs to second-hand books and vinyl records. In addition to shopping, you can enjoy the lively atmosphere of the market, listen to live music, and try some delicious street food! It's a great place to get a taste of local culture, find unique treasures, and spend a fun day out in Madrid.
